Welcome To Bay Bridge Boxers! |
|
My name is Lawrence Briscoe and my love of boxers started in 1991. While in the Navy I read dog books to occupy my time and came to the conclusion that the boxer breed was for me. I bought my first boxer in 1998 from Sierra Boxers, a plain dark brindle bitch I named Star. I thought Star would be my foundation bitch but God had other plans for her. My second boxer was a show prospect. I found out it was not easy to buy a show potential pup when nobody knows you! But, in the summer of 1999, Cindy Thomas of Cyntech Boxers gave me that opportunity. Can. Ch Cyntech’s Sassy But Sweet, just over 8 weeks old, traveled from Canada to Maryland to her new home. Tragically, in March of 2002, as I was preparing to go to work, I let Sassy out to do her morning business and she disappeared. I believe that she was taken out of my yard as there were no signs of her escaping, there was an extensive search but she was never found. My heart was broken and I was beside myself… In April of 2000 I felt I was ready to take on the challenge of owning a male boxer in hopes of getting my future with this wonderful breed started. Again I sought a dog from Canada and searched for a male that would be in line with my Canadian bitch. With much thanks to Sharon and Ron Berry, I was able to bring into my home Can. Ch. Berlane’s Legacy at Bay Bridge. He is now co-owned and living back in Canada. Due to the loss and also relocating, I took some time off from having a boxer in my home. The year was 2006 and I felt my life was ready to accept another boxer into my home and my heart. I sought the help from fellow Maryland Boxer Club member Beth Downey and she helped me find Spirit, ASureBet Spirit of Bay Bridge. Without a doubt, it was fate as I had just gotten back from a dog show where I had been smitten with a dark red plain black mask bitch whose loving face was still embedded in my mind. Once I saw pictures of Spirit as a pup, my jaw hit the floor. She was also a dark red plain black mask bitch! I had to have her! And as luck goes, she was able to come into my home and embrace my trust and love. Spirit will be the foundation of my dream to establish Bay Bridge Boxers and the future of bringing healthy, fun loving boxers into the world and for the people that love this incredible breed! |
